Make your voice heard on letting fees

The government is proposing to ban letting agents in England from charging fees to tenants. They are gathering feedback from the public until 2 June.

Renters stand to gain greater consumer power as a result of the changes, so the property industry is fighting back. That's why renters need to make our voices heard, and explain why letting fees are so harmful.

In partnership with ACORN and other local renter groups, Generation Rent has prepared a template consultation response which you are welcome to use. This covers the first 13 questions (Part A), and you are free to change or add to the answers.

Then there are 4 questions (Part B) which ask for your personal experiences. Please complete this final section as the government wants to hear individual experiences of letting fees.

Before you submit, please check the signature line. Apparently there have been some problems for people using autocomplete.

Generation Rent and ACORN would like to keep you updated with this and future campaigns, and renter groups in your local area.
